Val was sent home from the The Great British Bake-Off marquee after a pretty tragic week of baking, and the world of telly is a sadder place.
Okay, fair do's - Val's bakes were the worst of the week. But she brought so much joy to the tent. As Paul said, what a personality! So let's look at the reaction to Val's parting, and some of her high points: she of the cake cardio, who sings to her bakes, and explained away there being only one elephant in her gingerbread Noah's Ark because "they'd had an argument".
And wouldn't it be amazing if someone - ooh, I don't know, for example, me - hosted a Bake-Off podcast where you could discuss your tragic feelings about Val. Perhaps you should subscribe and listen in.
