Last month Topshop got mocked over trying to convince us that plastic jeans were all the rage - Twitter hilariously weren't having any of it - but it turns out Topshop had the last laugh, because they all sold out.

It looks like bad publicity is good publicity because the clear plastic jeans are all gone.

Topshop's head of design Mo Riach couldn't be happier, She said in a recent interview: "We want to disrupt. We want to do something that will get people talking."

Adding: "It's a positive thing. Debate and discussion is a positive thing, and we have our customers coming to our site as a result of that."

She added that the clear jeans were the result of her team deciding to take the vinyl trend "as far as it could go".

"We have done a lot of clear mattes in the past and they've been really successful, so it's like taking those trends and trying them out with denim," she said.

The plastic pair of jeans, which were put on a model wearing black hotpants (sure!), had the internet scratching its head. Mainly about sweat. How lovely.

Do you know what, if you parted with £55 to get these jeans, way to go you! You're thinking outside of the box, just like Topshop said. Just please don't wear them during a heatwave. Oh, and when you do wear them - make sure you tweet us a photo, @GlamourMagUK.
