Another rom-com delight to add to your Netflix queue – Too Much, courtesy of Girls genius Lena Dunham, no less. If you haven't already, soak up the trailer ASAP.
Set in London, the upcoming series follows the story of a burned out, heartbroken New Yorker as she navigates a new chance at love on the other side of the Atlantic. Intrigued yet? We certainly are.
Lexi Minetree will pick up the mantle from Reese Witherspoon.

The first look pics also give us a very tempting taster of romantic leads Will Sharpe and Megan Stalter, as well as appearances from Adwoa Aboah and Naomi Watts.
Netflix has also just confirmed that Too Much will boasts some seriously A-list guest stars, including Jennifer Saunders, Kit Harington, Rita Ora and Jessica Alba.
Megan has also recently opened up to Netflix's TUDUM about how much she personally identifies with her character Jessica. “Jessica and I both wear our hearts on our sleeve,” she said. “We’re emotional, we’re dramatic, we’re weird, and remain that way as adults.”
Variety reported earlier this year that Emily Ratajkowski will be taking on the role of male lead Felix's ex-girlfriend Polly, who is the polar opposite of our leading lady Jessica. So far, Emrata has appeared in Gone Girl alongside Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, and in We Are Your Friends with Zac Efron and I Feel Pretty with Amy Schumer. Most recent cast announcements for Too Much also include Naomi Watts and Andrew Scott. The excitement is, indeed, too much.
Here's everything we know so far about Too Much, and when it will be dropping on Netflix.
Too Much trailer
Set to Gracie Abrams' delightful That's So True, the trailer gives us a sense of the adorable-yet-relatable romcom we should expect, with plenty of light joking at the expense of British culture. We love to see it.
What is Too Much about?
According to Netflix's official synopsis, Too Much will tell the story of Jessica, who is described as "a New York workaholic in her mid-thirties, reeling from a broken relationship that she thought would last forever and slowly isolating everyone she knows.
"When every block in New York tells a story of her own bad behaviour, the only solution is to take a job in London, where she plans to live a life of solitude like a Bronte sister. But when she meets Felix – who is less Hugh Grant in Notting Hill and more Hugh Grant's drunken roommate – she finds that their unusual connection is impossible to ignore, even as it creates more problems than it solves. Now they have to ask themselves: do Americans and Brits actually speak the same language?
“From the creator of Girls and the producers of Love Actually, Too Much is an expat rom-com for the disillusioned who wonder if true love is still possible, but sincerely hope that it is.”
We've also had some slight hints at what to expect from the two lead characters – Jessica seems to be slightly jaded by experiencing her twenties. Meeting Felix makes her question it all.
Instagram content
“If you'd met Jessica ten years ago, you would have been blinded by her inner light – but life has taken her on a walkabout, when she thought she was just taking a quick jog,” a Netflix description reads. “Felix upends all her expectations, but it turns out that trusting someone is scarier than trusting no one.”
He is also described as “a very different kind of 35 – acting eternally 18, dressed like a punk elf, running as fast as he can from a trauma he can’t name, sleeping with every woman who stays in the bar past closing time and waking up wondering why he can’t just enjoy a night alone". A complicated fellow, to say the least. He may even be having a crisis in identity, just like Jessica.
“Born in the UK and raised between English boarding schools and his extended family in Japan, he feels neither here nor there. Making music is his only consolation – music that no one listens to.”
Too Much release date
The series will drop on Netflix on 10 July.

What has Lena Dunham said about Too Much so far?
“This is a show that is very close to my heart – created with my husband Luis, cast with my favourite actors – the geniuses that are Meg and Will, along with a bevy of friends – and partnering again with Working Title, who are behind the romantic comedies that formed me," the co-creator, writer and director of the TV series has said.
“Netflix has been so deeply supportive of the vision, which is to create a romantic comedy that makes us root for love, brings joy but also has the jagged edges of life.”
