Hit BBC drama series The Split is back for a sizzling two-parter set in Barcelona, and we can't wait to see the Defoe sisters back on our screens, with a side order of drama and sunshine as we tuck into our Christmas leftovers.
Just to help with any incoming winter blues, we're happy to learn that while the last three seasons have seen London as the Defoe family's stomping ground, the special will take place in Spain, at a Catalonian vineyard for a wedding. Classy.
Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming The Split special.
“Welcome to the naughtiest show on television.”

The Split: Barcelona plot
The two-part special has been described by the BBC as “a Spanish extravaganza set over one sun-soaked weekend”.
“Two years on from the third and final series, formidable family lawyer Hannah Defoe (Nicola Walker) and her family are back and have gathered for a beautiful wedding at a magnificent vineyard, nestled in Catalonia’s wine region,” the plot synopsis reads.
“The episodes will explore the themes of love, legacy, and modern marriage, through a sparkling cast of characters that audiences know and love.”
We'll see Hannah try and open herself up to the possibility of love again, as well as a whole new offering of break-ups, reunions and romance.

The key cast will return, including Nicola Walker, Stephen Mangan, Annabel Scholey, Fiona Button, Deborah Findlay, Ian McElhinney, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Elizabeth Roberts and Alex Guersman – joined by an array of new stars including Toby Stephens, who portrays a new character, eligible family lawyer Archie Moore.
