Coleen Rooney has sensationally revealed she was "forced to set a trap" for her former friend Rebekah Vardy in the first trailer for her brand new documentary centred on the infamous Wagatha Christie trial.

If you were hiding under a rock in 2019 and didn't follow along with all the WAG-related drama, 37-year-old Coleen used clever Instagram tactics to "trap" Rebecca, 41, into seeing Instagram Stories in which Coleen shared false information about her life. She did this after realising that personal tidbits about her life were getting leaked to the press, and she had a sneaking suspicion that it was Rebekah.

This culminated in a very public "outing" in October 2019. "It's…Rebekah Vardy," Coleen infamously announced on social media, outing her one-time friend as the apparent person who was behind leaking stories about her to the tabloids. The clash saw Coleen being dubbed #WagathaChristie on social media – a homage to bestselling detective novelist Agatha Christie.

Following the social media clash, the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy accused Coleen of libel – and prolonged court proceedings ended with High Court Judge Justice Steyn finding that Coleen had not committed libel against her fellow friend in accusing her of leaking private information to the tabloids because the accusation was "substantially true".

And with the case hitting headlines across the globe, mother-of-four Coleen is now having her say in an upcoming three-part docuseries for Disney+. The streamer has also released the first official trailer for the hotly anticipated series, in which Coleen herself is in the hot seat divulging what really happened during the scandal.

"They're my words, and I stick by them," Coleen unapologetically admits as she shows that she is still in possession of the infamous social media post on her phone in which she outs Rebekah. A slew of media coverage clips dub the feud a "war of the WAGS" before Coleen adds: "Someone on my personal page was informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories. I thought, I'm going to do something about it."

Another person adds: "This is a detective story. You never find the person responsible with a smoking gun in her hand. She was going to lose at trial." Coleen then states how she investigated the mysterious leaks, admitting that she "needed evidence" and "needed to set a trap". She also revealed that after outing Rebekah, her former friend texted her to say, "What is this?" to which she replied: "You know what this is."

Coleen is then seen breaking down into tears while describing the emotional toll the trial took on her before she recollects herself to add: "Don't play games with a girl who can play better".

The official synopsis for the docuseries via Disney+ reads: "Uncovering one of the biggest tabloid news stories in Britain for the last decade, it reveals how Coleen turned amateur online sleuth to find an explanation for why private stories concerning herself and her family continued to appear in the media.

"It examines the circumstances that led to her infamous Instagram post that 'broke the internet' all the way to Coleen successfully defending herself in one of the UK's highest-profile High Court defamation cases of recent years. As well as the case itself, it will explore how Coleen has had her life played out in public for the last 20 years. We know her as one of Britain's most famous celebrities and wife of England's record-scoring footballer Wayne Rooney."
