The Lincoln Lawyer's third season may have only just arrived on Netflix, though after quickly making our way through all ten episodes we can't help but wonder when we'll be getting The Lincoln Lawyer season 4.
The latest season arrived on Netflix on October 17, with this series seeing Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) defending an innocent man Julian La Cosse (Devon Graye) who is accused of murdering Gloria Dayton, Mickey's former client from season one, with him getting mixed up with a dangerous cartel along the way.
But will we get a The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 on Netflix? Here's everything we know about a potential fourth season.
Has The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 been confirmed?
Given the third season only just came out we may be getting a little ahead of ourselves with things, with Netflix typically waiting several weeks after a new season is released before confirming whether further series are on the cards.
While we've not had an official word from Netflix on a potential The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 yet, things definitely sound hopeful from what the series' co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez have shared in a recent interview.
Speaking to TV Insider, Rodriguez said "We always set up sort of the next case of the season. This one won’t quite set up the next case, but it will definitely set up the next book."
For context, The Lincoln Lawyer is based on Michael Connelly’s novels, with the third adapting The Gods of Guilt and there being plenty more material to tap into.
The show's co-showrunner Humphrey added, “I think we can say this season will definitely propel us in a very exciting and personal way into a Season 4.”
He continued, “Michael hints that he’s potentially working on another Lincoln Lawyer book beyond the ones that have already been published. We don’t know that for sure. Obviously, if he is working on one, we are very eager to read it. We have plans internally for how to adapt versions of all the books.”

In another recent interview, the series' showrunner Humphrey said “I mean, we’re in the hands of the audience, right? We’re quietly optimistic about it, but obviously, with Netflix, it always depends on how the current season goes. And so I would say to our fans and viewers of the show, if you want a fourth season, which we very much want to bring you a fourth season, then by all means watch and tell your friends.”

The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 plot
So what would a potential Lincoln Lawyer season 4 plot look like?
Well, showrunner Humphrey confirmed that given the third season ending with Sam Scales in the trunk, “the thinking” for a fourth season would be to pick up from Connelly's The Law of Innocence book.
So far Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer has adapted three novels from the writer's series: The Fifth Witness, The Gods of Guilt and The Lincoln Lawyer, leaving The Law of Innocence wide open for a new season.

Given that a fourth series is yet to be confirmed, it remains to be seen who from the cast will return to the fold, though we would expect Manuel Garcia-Rulfo to reprise his role as lawyer Mickey Haller.
