We've got the full gameplay on Ted Lasso season four, and even a trailer!
The previous season of the football comedy series, which centres around Jason Sudeikis' Ted Lasso, who travels from the US to London's Richmond to coach a struggling Premier League team, aired in 2023, so it's high time we got some more joy from the Apple TV+ show.
Season four will centre on a brand-new team, featuring many exciting new faces – including a Sex Education star. But don’t worry: plenty of familiar favourites are set to return, too.
Here's everything we know so far about Ted Lasso season 4, including a release date — finally!
Ted Lasso season 4 plot
We’re moving into women’s football this season – and fans of the mighty Lionesses are bound to be buzzing about this bold new chapter for Ted Lasso and co.
Season 4 will see Ted returning to Richmond to coach a second division women’s soccer team. In a new trailer, Sudeikis can be seen trying to coach his young hopefuls while in another scene he is berated for “coaching a bunch of girls – you w*nker!”
“Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would,” promises the synopsis.
No matter what, we need Keeley and Roy back together, pronto.
Ted Lasso season four cast
Alongside Sudeikis as Ted, we’ll see the return of Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Walton, along with Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, Juno Temple as Keely, and Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard. There’s no word just yet on whether Nick Mohammed will reprise his role as Nathan Shelley.
Newcomers joining the cast for season four include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely.
Feely, in particular, steps into a key recast, taking over the role of Ted’s son, Henry. The character was previously played by Gus Turner and is now 12 years old.
Will Jamie Tartt be in Ted Lasso season four?
With a heavy heart, we have to report that Jamie Tartt won’t be making moves as part of the main squad in season four. Phil Dunster, who plays the fan-favourite striker, won’t be returning as a series regular due to scheduling conflicts.
That said, the door hasn’t been firmly closed — and a guest appearance hasn’t been ruled out. So there’s still hope we might see him pop up on the pitch with a shake of those golden locks.
When will Ted Lasso season four be released?
It’s been confirmed that Ted Lasso season four will debut on the 5th of August.
