Taylor Swift told us she'd see us in the next era, and she didn't keep us waiting long. Since the singer announced the news of her latest album, The Life Of A Showgirl, the internet has been awash with theories about TayTay's next aesthetic – a.k.a. the colour and vibe we'll forever associate with the new record.

ICYMI: we've already had iridescent pastel vibes for Lover, a carefree, boho attitude for Fearless and moody, dark tones for Reputation (I'm sure you can guess the colour theme for Taylor's Red era, too). But if there's one aesthetic that Taylor Swift is very closely associated with, it's warm sunset tones – thanks to her self-professed love for autumn.

It feels apt, then, that Taylor's newest era appears to be very orange-coded – and Swifties are taking note. On Monday, the star's social team Taylor Nation teased a round-up of pictures of Swift wearing her boldest orange stage looks, along with the caption: “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’ ❤️‍🔥.”

Then there's Taylor's very obvious choice of coral lipstick to film her podcast announcement – thought to be Nars' Morocco, one of her favourite shades – and the not-so-subtle orange lettering overlaying the video.

Taylor Swift is no stranger to orange, let me tell you. The shade is also closely associated with her album Evermore in particular… plus there's her love of all things pumpkin-spiced. It feels very correct.

Those that have been stalking Taylor's website for updates will also have noticed that a soft, almost-minty green also appears to be a key part of the aesthetic – also mirrored in the typography of Travis' New Heights podcast. Then there's the ‘showgirl’ clue… just how sparkly are we talking?!

While we wait with baited breath for more updates on the album, here's what we know about Taylor Swift's The Life Of A Showgirl aesthetic so far.

Autumnal orange

Autumn is coming, and so are sunset shades, if Taylor Swift has anything to do with it. Every clue about The Life Of A Showgirl so far has screamed orange – and we're talking bold, fiery orange. The flaming heart emoji (❤️‍🔥) used by TaylorNation also feels relevant, though we're not sure how quite yet.

In fact, Taylor has been teasing her orange movement since the European leg of her Eras tour, when she began wearing tangerine stage looks out of the blue. Luckily, sunset shades are everywhere right now, so there's plenty of ways you can embrace Taylor's favourite shade:

Mint green

Perhaps the more wearable of the two shades currently associated with The Life Of A Showgirl, mint green is the soft contradiction to Taylor's spicier shade (another metaphor? Who knows). A sweet-but-sassy mini dress always feels unmistakably Swiftie – team with a coral lip and you're good to go.

Showgirl sparkles

Another big hint from Taylor about her next era? Glittery texture, as seen across all marketing for The Life Of A Showgirl… as well as the sparkling embellishments on her glitzy stage costumes. Then there's the ‘showgirl’ reference, of course, and some online speculation about whether Tay Tay will go all-out with feathers and tassels, Burlesque-style. Sequins never go out of style (pun intended), so have at it!
