Megan Fox has convinced us that ‘Targaryen Blonde’ is the shade switch-up we need, as the prequel to Game of Thrones has seen the icy shade and the iron throne back on our screens.
It's no secret that we often take inspiration from icons or movie characters when it comes to hair trends. This year, Marilyn Monroe's milky blonde went stratospheric and Audrey Hepburn's Hepburn Bangs are gaining momentum. Now, Targaryen Blonde is capturing our attention and Megan is demonstrating the shade perfectly.
For Paris Fashion Week, Megan showed up with a new hair colour that looks suspiciously like Khaleesi's ancestors. And, she acknowledged the similarity in a picture posted to Instagram captioned: “a slutty but studious Targaryen goes to Paris.”

Unfamiliar? Daenerys Targaryen – aka Khaleesi, aka Mother of Dragons – played by Emilia Clarke is probably the best-known Targaryen from Game Of Thrones. Now House Of Dragons (set around 170 years before GOT) is in full swing on HBO Max, we've been introduced to a whole new legion of family members, and one of their visual trademarks is their white blonde hair, which Megan has picked up on.
It's a platinum blonde shade, which, despite being ultra light, is meant to look as natural as possible. After all, it is the ‘natural’ hair colour of the Targaryens in the series. As for recreating it? The best way to get an effect that is as natural as possible is through the targeted use of highlights – because natural hair is rarely completely one-dimensional.
Targaryen Blonde looks cool at first glance, but a closer look reveals warm moments. For the colouring process, this means that about 75 percent is cool platinum blonde and about 25 percent is warm platinum blonde.
For those of us who aren't naturally as blonde as the Targaryens, the platinum blonde shade can be combined with a shadow root, keeping roots intentionally natural in colour so the platinum blonde grows out more beautifully, as Megan Fox shows has done.
The actress is known for trying out new hair colours with wigs. Therefore, we are almost sure that the Targaryen look is also a temporary change. Nevertheless, we are happy to be inspired.
