Tammy Girl is officially back. Nope, you're ~not~ dreaming. The iconic nineties brand that solved all of our school disco outfit woes circa 1998 has relaunched, seemingly out of no-where, on ASOS. And Y2k babes are going wild.
Picture it: you've got three days to go ‘til the event of the year (read: the peddle pusher-clad school disco), and you’re meandering the high street for stylish outfits that'll leave your crush's jaw on the dance floor. You convince your mum that Tammy Girl is, undoubtedly, the only place you'll find something you like. And on arrival, you're greeted by an array of one-shoulder crop tops, rhinestone-embellished cardigans, purple-wash denim, cargo pants and tie-dye dresses. You were right. You're spoilt for choice. Life is good.
Actually, it's good until 2005, when Tammy Girl closes all high street stores after being bought-out by BHS, and we all cry into our pillows for a solid three months.
But buckle up, ‘cos in a move that fits seamlessly with the almighty return of every viral Y2K trend that has taken over your FYP on TikTok of late (think: butterfly clips, beaded jewellery, blue eyeshadow, space buns and brows so thin that you practically need a magnifying glass to see them), Daisy Street has announced the re-launch of the brand behind our most-adored teenage aesthetic: Tammy Girl. With a 32-piece (!) capsule collection, no less, that’s exclusively available online with ASOS. SCREAMS.
Keen to know what to expect from the launch? There are cami dresses, ruched baby-pink co-ords, sheer mesh cardigans (adorned in Dua Lipa's favourite butterfly motif) and babydoll dresses that give every milkmaid dress we just ordered a run for its money.
Elsewhere, find a plethora of one-shoulder crop tops, graphic tees, cargo skirts and newspaper print. Your Platinum Jubilee wardrobe just got a glow-up.
There's no denying you're going to want absolutely every piece – but the collection expected to sell out in a flash. Got your eye on something that resembles a childhood fave? You know exactly what to do.
