Ah, the Super Bowl. A night for music lovers, movie lovers, greasy food lovers, and celebrity lovers. Oh yeah, and I guess there's some stuff for sports lovers, too. One of my personal favourite parts of the yearly American football game is, obviously, halftime – you know, when all of the exciting stuff happens. The spectacular show! (All hail Bad Bunny). The ridiculous ads! And, of course, the movie trailer debuts.
This year, we got our hands on nine new trailers. We got our first look at Brad Pitt in the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel. We got a glimpse of the horror to come in Scream 7. We also got a peek at Milly Alcock's upcoming Supergirl. There are, officially, loads of exciting blockbusters to look forward to this year.
In case you missed the biggest night of the year in movie trailers (um, I mean sports!), here are the trailers that got us seriously hyped at last night's Super Bowl.
Weekend sorted.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
It'sa Mario! Gamers, attention. Universal released a sneak peek at their upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie, featuring itty-bitty baby Mario and Luigi.
Minions & Monsters
Another animated flick to look forwards to, Minions & Monsters will be the next installment in the Despicable Me series featuring everyone's favourite gibberish-spewing yellow blobs, the minions. This time, the minions are making a movie and are, apparently, looking to cast some monsters. Does it sound ridiculous? Yes. Will we be going to see it? Probably.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth
Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood offered up a retelling of the infamous story of Sharon Tate's murder by the Manson family. It featured an all-star cast that included Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margaret Qualley, Mikey Madison, Dakota Fanning – I could go on. But one of the most memorable? Brad Pitt as stuntman Cliff Booth, who accidentally becomes embroiled in the Manson family plot. Now, Cliff Booth is returning for another adventure in a film penned by Tarantino and directed by Gone Girl's David Fincher.
The Mandalorian and Grogu
Remember Grogu fever? You know, when absolutely everyone got completely obsessed with the cute little green creature fondly known as Baby Yoda? Well, Grogu is back and heading to the big screen in The Mandolorian and Grogu – and he's looking cuter than ever. Pedro Pascal also returns as the masked Mandalorian.
Disclosure Day
This Steven Spielberg sci-fi epic stars the likes of Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo and Colin Firth, which, in itself, is enough to make us very excited. O'Connor plays a whistleblower who reveals secret information about alien communication with Earth to everyone on the planet, causing – well, what looks like total chaos.
It's set to be a ‘Four-Film Cinematic Event’.

Scream 7
The seventh in the iconic horror franchise, Scream 7 brings back Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox from the original 1996 film. This time, a new Ghostface is in town and is after Campbell's daughter, Tatum. Honestly, it looks terrifying – and we are here for it.
Hoppers
Pixar's upcoming Hoppers sees a young girl using technology to “hop” her brain into the body of a (fake) beaver, so she can communicate with other animals and experience – you know – hopping around as a beaver. Fun I guess! We know what you're thinking. This is like Avatar, right? Well, that joke made it to the trailer, too.
Project Hail Mary
Ryan Gosling stars in this adaptation of Andy Weir's 2021 sci-fi thriller. The story follows a science teacher who finds himself on a spaceship tasked with figuring out why the Sun is dying (yikes). On his mission, he meets “Rocky,” an alien also on a similar mission for his own planet. Based on the trailer, it looks seriously epic – and Gosling's bromance with Rocky looks surprisingly moving.
Supergirl
Finally, we have Supergirl. House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock brings the famous DC Comics superhero to life, complete with adorable little Krypto the Superdog. In the trailer, we see Supergirl, Superman's younger cousin, escaping Krypton and finding Krypto as a very cute puppy. While Superman sees “the good in people,” Supergirl says she “sees the truth." Whether you're a superhero movie fan or not, this is definitely one film to get excited for.
