The ‘Strawberry Girl’ aesthetic is the cutest trend taking TikTok by storm

Hailey Bieber has officially declared this season “strawberry girl summer,” and we're inclined to listen. Who can forget when she opened January last year with the Insta prophecy: “glazed 🍩🍩 skin all 2022. Tell a friend.”

She wasn't wrong. Glossy complexions headlined TikTok and Hailey helped to spearhead the movement with the release of her very own glazing products by way of Rhode.

Now the model has taken to Instagram once again with the caption “strawberry girl summer 🍓” and a carousel of pictures including a bare-faced selfie, a side-shot of her current favourite glam combo (an airy bob, pink glazed lips and mix n match nails), and another selfie of a Rhode-branded strawberry sticker pasted to the end of her nose.

It's got fans guessing. Since her glazed donut skin forecast proceeded the release of corresponding products, what could this post be teasing? One user even commented “sooo is this a hint to Strawberry Lip Treatment 👀🍓.”

Then, Hailey followed up with a TikTok video walking through how she does her strawberry makeup look where she teased: “I went in with two cream blushes that I mixed together – can't say where the cream blushers are from wink wink.” So we'd make an educated guess and say we should be expecting some Rhode blushers in strawberry girl shades very soon.

Whatever the case, Hailey has once again tapped into a growing trend on social. Currently, #strawberrygirl has over 13.8 million views on TikTok, so what exactly is a strawberry girl?

What is the strawberry girl aesthetic?

Like the vanilla girl and latte girl aesthetics that came before it, the strawberry girl aesthetic leans into a matching tonal colour palette, but this one feels a little broader. It incorporates elements of the coquette and balletcore trend with pretty, soft pinks, but it also brings in fun fruity reds. More widely, there's a wholesome, organic romance to the trend, which conjures up picnics al fresco, walking barefoot through the garden with a punnet strawbs and reading a book in the sunshine.
