Although it may not look like it, it's still summer time, so a touch of neon might be needed to brighten up these less-than-summery cloudy skies. Stila knows how to deliver colour. This limited edition launch comes in the form of six pastel (or ‘muted neon’ as they call it) hued eye liners and they look oh-so-cute.
The formula promises to live up to its name, delivering smudge-proof and fade-resistant wear that will last you all day. Wether you're rocking a casual daytime look, or dancing the night away, these eyeliners assure us that they'll stay vibrant throughout.
Eyeliner at the ready.

With a precision felt-tip applicator which allows for thin to thick lines, these are also ideal for doing special designs or just our go-to easy to do cat-eye flick. All you need to do is give it a good shake just before use and then sweep the pen along your lash line. Depending on wether you want thicker or thinner lines, you can also position the pen at an angle and apply it with slightly more pressure to build and intensify colour.
How do these pens perform against the skin of different people with different eye shapes, skin types and complexions? Here are five GLAMOUR staffers honest thoughts on the Stila Stay All Day Muted Neon Liquid Eye Liner.

Shade: Lavender Fields
I'm deep in my pastels era and as soon as I saw these Stila Liquid Eye Liners, I needed to give them a go. Lilac really is my go-to colour of the moment, so of course I had to try the Lavender Fields shade first and foremost. I love how it's a pen instead of a thin brush. Although there is likely more colour deposit from a liquid blush, you can have more control with this felt pen wand.
I found it pretty easy to apply, and although I had to go over it a fair few times to see maximum colour, it wasn't too hard to achieve that sexy sharp flick I like. I would have liked the lilac shade to be a little warmer, because against my dark skin it looked almost white, if anything.
The formula was good though, it wasn't patchy or powdery and it's blendable if you want to achieve a gradient or a smokey pastel eye – but you've got to be quick with it, as it does dry down fast. This might be exactly what I needed to brighten these cloudy and quintessentially British summer days.

Shade: Blue Skies
I'll start by saying I am a sucker for a coloured liner. I love a punchy neon, or a moody dark colour depending on my mood. I tried the Muted-Neon Liquid Eye Liner in the shade 'Blue Skies', a pretty pastel cornflower blue. The felt-tip end meant that I could apply the liner with ease, and creating a sharp line and point was light work.
I did find that when I went over the existing line to make the colour more opaque, it rubbed off the existing product underneath. So definitely wait a bit before you go back on top. The finished result was a super subtle pop of colour, which didn't look out of place for daytime office wear. I would welcome a bit more pigment so that it wouldn't require going over it again.

Shade: Mint Green
I rarely stray from my go-to black eyeliner, but when I do I want to commit. After applying my usual liner first, I then went in with the Stila Neon Liquid Eye Liner in Mint Green to add an outline before going into my inner corner and drawing a parallel line above.
I found the application a little tough despite the fairly precise tip because of the more watery formula that left my lines looking patchy. Persevering, though, I was happy with the sharp contrast that this eventually helped create alongside the black liner – perfect for elevating my usual look.
While the formula took some getting used to, it felt like had I shaken it up each time I might have had a sleeker final result. Overall, I can see the potential of something like this, but for me the formula came up chalky and the pastel mint shade was a little too in between - I would have preferred a bolder colour with stronger immediate impact.

Shade: Cotton Candy
I never knew I was a neon eyeliner girly 'til today, but I declare myself obsessed. I've worn black eyeliner almost every day for the past two years, starting around three-quarters of the way along my eye and winging it out with a flick – and that's the exact strategy I went for when I (hesitantly) applied Stila's Stay All Day Muted Neon liquid eyeliner in cotton candy. The tone looks pretty muted at first glance, but on application, it was *so* pigmented and easy to build. That said, it's a subtle enough colour to rock in the office or over brunch – let's not keep it reserved for parties and festivals. I'm a coloured-liner convert, and quite fancy picking up the other shades in the range before summer is totally over.

Shade: Mellow Yellow
I love everything pastel-related, and when it comes to eyeliners, Stila is definitely one of my first choices whenever I'm after a sharp cat-eye wing. So naturally, when Stila announced their new range of pastel-coloured eyeliners, my excitement was through the roof. I opted for the shade Mellow Yellow, which is a gorgeous pastel yellow that can potentially work with any eyeshadow look. My favourite part was the colour-payoff - the pigment was unmatched (and given that it's a muted pastel shade, that's saying a lot).
Similar to the OG Stila black eyeliner, the applicator tip was super precise, which unleashed my inner graphic eyeliner artistry even more. One thing that I found tricky was how quickly it dries down, but if you work fast enough, that shouldn't be an issue. I loved that it didn't budge or smudge throughout the day, so that's definitely a plus too. If you're after a fun summer look, I can't think of anything better (and cuter) than this eyeliner.
