US comedy stalwart Saturday Night Live is coming to the UK, and we can't wait to find out who will make the line-up.
Seeing as SNL boosted the careers of the likes of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and many more, its launch this side of the Atlantic could bring a lot of new UK comedic talent to our screens.
We love the fact that the actor was keen to not contribute to the pitting of women against other women.

“For over 50 years Saturday Night Live has held a unique position in TV and in our collective culture, reflecting and creating the global conversation all under the masterful comedic guidance of Lorne Michaels," Sky’s chief content officer, Cécile Frot-Coutaz has said. "The show has discovered and nurtured countless comedy and musical talents over the years and we are thrilled to be partnering with Lorne and the SNL team to bring an all-British version of the show.”
But who from the existing comedy world would we like to see on the UK's SNL? Here's GLAMOUR's round up of the top female comedians we'd like to see on the UK's rendition of Saturday Night Live, which is slated to launch in 2026.
Rosie Jones
Rosie has appeared on a range of iconic comedy TV shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Taskmaster and QI. She's also a vocal advocate for disability representation, and even made a documentary about her experiences of ableism (as a person with cerebral palsy) named Rosie Jones: Am I a R*tard?
Aisling Bea
As well as writing one of the best TV shows of all time, This Way Up, Aisling Irish dry humour can be found on movies such as Get Away (alongside Nick Frost) and Living With Yourself (also starring Paul Rudd).
GLAMOUR recently caught up with Aisling in an interview, where she spoke out about the incremental change occurring when it comes to the representation of women in the comedy industry. “Change happens very incrementally,” she said. “One of my problems was that there weren't enough women on panel shows, whereas the people who came 20 years before me couldn't even buy a house without a man as a signatory.”
Sara Pascoe
Sara's appearances on a range of comedy TV panels springboarded her into hosting the UK's much-loved Great British Sewing Bee, as well as writing her debut novel Weirdo, which is a wickedly funny take on modern love and romance.
Atsuko Okatsuka
Atsuko Okatsuka is a Taiwanese-American stand-up comedian whose debut standup special The Intruder premiered on HBO back in December. She was named one of Variety Top 10's Comedians to Watch in 2022 — and we'd love to watch her take the UK by storm on our very own SNL.
Stevie Martin
Starting out as a member of sketch comedy group Massive Dad with fellow comedians Tessa Coates and Liz Kingsman, Stevie took her comedy to TikTok, at first creating sketches with actor Lola-Rose Maxwell. Herself and Tessa also co-host podcast, Nobody Panic, and she previously hosted a podcast with her sister and activist Gina Martin named Might Delete Later.
London Hughes
After writing and starring in BBC's Laughter Shock in 2010, London's star continued to rise. She appeared in Fleabag and wrote and starred in her own BBC Radio 4 pilot named 28 Dates Later. London moved to the US to film her Netflix stand-up special, London Hughes: To Catch a D*ck, but we wonder if she'd make a return to the UK for our rendition of SNL…
Katherine Ryan
Comedy queen Katherine Ryan would have to make the UK's SNL line-up, and here at GLAMOUR we are the biggest fan of our long-time Women of the Year Awards host.
Maisie Adam
After winning the 2017 national contest So You Think You're Funny, Maisie went on to appear on Would I Like To You?, Mock The Week, QI, Have I Got News For You and has written for Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
She also became a co-host of podcast Big Kick Energy with fellow comedian Suzi Ruffell, which was launched for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Michelle De Swarte
Michelle starred alongside Katherine Ryan in Netflix's The Duchess, and recently wrote and starred in BBC's Spent, where she plays an international catwalk model who spirals into bankruptcy and homelessness – said to be partially inspired by her own experiences within her modelling career.
Fern Brady
A huge success at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival, Fern has been very vocal about her diagnosis as being on the autism spectrum, going on to write about her experiences in her 2023 memoir Strong Female Character.
Ellie Taylor
As well as appearing in hit Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso for 3 years, Ellie has made the rounds on a range of comedy panel shows and has even appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.
Lolly Adefope
Lolly's all about the character comedy, and we're here for it. She won a National Comedy Award for her performance in BBC comedy Ghosts, where she played the spirit of a Georgian noblewoman named Kitty. She also smashed the Edinburgh Fringe with her stand-up skills and has appeared in movies such as Saltburn and The Spy Who Dumped Me.
Alice Levine
Alice secured her place firmly in the comedy world by co-creating the insanely popular podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno. She has also presented backstage at the BRITs, appeared on Taskmaster and co-hosted Channel 4's The Circle with Maya Jama, as well as presenting various shows on BBC Radio 1.
Sophie Duker
A Taskmaster favourite of ours and creator of Hag, a show that interrogates her life as a Black, pansexual woman, what's not to love about Sophie?
