If there's one thing we love more than a celeb hair transformation, it's a celeb hair transformation on the GLAMOUR red carpet. And that is what Samira Wiley just gave us.
Yep, our Women of the Year Awards are back for 2022, in partnership with Samsung, and the red carpet has been serving some serious looks. One of our favourites came from star of Netflix’s Orange Is The New Black and The Handmaid’s Tale, Samira Wiley.
Fresh off the stage of her sell-out West End debut at The National Theatre playing Angel in Blues for an Alabama Sky, Samira took to the WOTY red carpet wearing an incredible LBD with mirror and feather detailing, with matching knee-high boots by Alberta Ferretti, with Shaun Leane earrings.
But it was her hair that stole the show for us. Her trademark short hair was cut to a perfectly-defined buzzcut, and her brown hair was dyed to a striking bright sunshine blonde. Talk about hair goals.
When asked about the women who inspire her, Samira Wiley said: “I'm going to talk about my sister. My sister is 10 years older than me, and she's like a mother figure. She's an actual mother to five children. She's a woman who lets me feel like you don't have to pick and choose what you want to do in life.”
When asked when she feels the most empowered, she said: “When I'm standing right next to my wife.” Adorable.
