Russian tennis player, Sventlana Kuznetsova, just proved that one: she's an absolute badass. And two: nothing could get in the way of her success at the Women's Tennis Association finals on Monday, especially not her own hair.

Yep, that's right.

The 31-year-old tennis champ chopped off her ponytail in the middle of the tennis court because it was "bothering" her half-way during her important match against Polish player Agnieszka Radwanska.

She shocked fans as she requested a break at the beginning of the third set, asked for a pair of scissors and gave herself a haircut. As you do...

"It was bothering me a lot," she explained after the match. "Every time I would hit a good shot, it would hit my eye every time and I had [to] struggle."

"I thought, 'OK, what's more important now, my hair, which I can let grow, or the match?' I thought, 'OK, I got to go for it right now', and that's it. I was not thinking too much, though.

I was just trying to get the best of me ... I don't even know how much I cut there."

Talk about getting your head in the game!

But her brave leap of faith well and truly paid off as Kuznetsova came back in full force following a weak start and ended up winning the match. Hurrah!

She later took to Instagram to share a video with the caption: "Sometimes you gotta do it not by [the] best hairdressers... and not at the best time."
