Basketball player Matt Barnes made the grave mistake of lying about dating Rihanna and she publically shot him down in entertaining fashion.
TMZ recorded footage of Barnes being asked about whether or not he and Rihanna were an item and he replied with impressive arrogance: "Rihanna's my friend right now, so we'll see how it goes. I think it just passed the crush stage - just a little bit."
He was then asked if his impending move to basketball team Memphis Grizzlies would be a problem in terms of distance. "Nah, she's rich, it'll be alright."
Rihanna may be a douche-magnet, but the goddess-like creature now has better taste than that and was quick to dispel his fantasy.
She shared a screengrab of the clip on Instagram and said that she'd never even met Barnes and described his claim as "defamation of character". She added numerous other hashtags to make her point:
