On October 6, Rihanna rocked a sexy take on the Canadian tuxedo while out for her most recent date night with A$AP Rocky. The 35-year-old “Diamonds” singer opted for a wide-leg light-wash denim and cropped shirt jacket combo, leaving the top layer open over a knotted white button-up that showed off a hint of her lacy black bra.

She topped off the look with a classic red manicure, black statement pumps, and rectangular shades. Meanwhile, Rocky looked nearly as chic in a grey suit worn over a casual white shirt, accessorising his outfit with woven black dress shoes, a green woven bag, and aviator sunglasses.
Though both looks actually have a lot going on—I didn't even mention all of Rihanna's layered necklaces or Rocky's own sapphire and diamond chains—the two somehow always end up looking effortlessly cool.
This comes just a few days after Rihanna put her own stamp on the tights-as-trousers trend during another outing with the father of her two children. On October 3, the couple celebrated Rocky's 34th birthday at Carbone in NYC, with Rihanna showing up in an asymmetrical tulle corset number with opaque tights and a cropped silk bomber jacket. This time, the rapper was the one wearing light-wash jeans, which he paired with some business casual layers and yet another woven tote—this time in bubblegum pink.
However, Rihanna keeps coming back to the Canadian tuxedo, which the artist has rocked in many iterations over the years.
At the end of the day, there isn't a styling trend that Rihanna hasn't tried, mastered, and made her own, but denim-on-denim clearly belongs to her.
