Countdown host Rachel Riley was left struggling not to giggle when her boyfriend, the Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev, identified a saucy word in the letters.
The dancer, who is spending a week as a guest in Dictionary Corner, even got host Nick Hewer to chuckle when he revealed what he had found amidst the jumble of MEPHALSUL.
After a contestant mistakenly thought they had found "phlegms," Susie Dent pointed out it was incorrect.
"There is a little bit of a longer word, it's seven," Kovalev said.
And when Kovalev read out what he'd identified – "phallus" – there was a brief pause before Hewer said, “Sorry, I was just a bit stunned for a second there.”
Riley duly giggled and put it up on the board, and another Countdown rude word was added to the album.
