Earlier this week, Queen Elizabeth appointed Liz Truss as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at her home in Balmoral Castle. Following the “full day," Buckingham Palace noted that she would not preside over a scheduled Privy Council meeting so that she could instead rest, per doctors' orders.

In June, the queen celebrated her Platinum Jubilee in honor of 70 years on the British throne.
