Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last night and just like our low key family dos, the royals wore black tie and diamonds.
The celebration was held at Windsor castle and Prince Harry joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge by car. In bow ties and pocket handkerchiefs, the brothers looked suitably smart to celebrate their grandparents' milestone. Awwww.
Kate wore a pearl choker that looked ever so slightly familiar, as the necklace was loaned by Queen Elizabeth herself. Fancy lending it to us next time? Please?
After 70 years of marriage, we can imagine that ideas for anniversary presents start to run dry. We guess the royals have slightly better gift ideas than new toasters or a pair of slippers, and Queen Elizabeth appointed Prince Philip a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO) for services to the sovereign. This honour recognizes all the support that Philip has given her during her reign, both publicly and privately, since their marriage in 1947.
