Speaking in a clip from upcoming ITV documentary, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, the royal brothers reminisced on Princess Diana's playful side, calling her "one of the naughtiest parents."

"One of her mottos to me was, you know, “You can be as naughty as you want, just don’t get caught," says Harry.

"She would come and watch us play football and smuggle sweets into our socks."

The Duke of Cambridge is also heard sharing the most memorable prank their mother ever played on him and it involved three iconic supermodels...

"She organised when I came home from school to have Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell waiting at the top of the stairs," he says. "I was probably a 12- or 13-year-old boy who had posters of them on his wall.

"I went bright red, and didn’t know quite what to say and sort of fumbled and I think I pretty much fell down the stairs on the way up. I was completely and utterly awestruck.

That was a very funny memory."

A previously released trailer for Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy shows the brothers sharing childhood memories of their mother as they look through a family album.

Harry can be heard saying: "This is the first time that the two of us have ever spoken about her as a mother. She was our mum. She still is our mum.

"And of course, as a son I would say this, she was the best mum in the world. She smothered us with love, that's for sure."

Diana was known for her humanitarian work, particularly with organisations helping landmine workers, victims of HIV and AIDS, addicts and the homeless. She also spoke candidly about her own struggles with depression, self-harm and bulimia - topics which were rarely addressed in the 90s.

Prince Harry, recently spoke publicly about his own mental health issues, and Prince William, who is also involved in the charity Heads Together.
