A racier show than usual from Paul Smith

Paul Smith does three things exceedingly well - sharp tailoring, some unexpected colour combos we'd never have thought of, and a dash of tomboy style (the queen of tomboy chic, Alexa Chung, was naturally on the front row sitting next to Daisy Lowe).

This season, we had all three in spades - some sharp tailored trouser suits, wide-legged pants and trilby hats for the tomboy set, and a gorgeous buttercup yellow and cornflower blue seen on tailored suits. But we also had a few unexpected details, like the racier completely sheer pieces, super short shorts and slouchy off the shoulder shirts. Also unexpected - the bellowing of photographers to models to "walk in a straight line" as they went down the runway - it's not a good sign that the fashion week rage has already set in after three days (blame the weather).

On our wish list? On the catwalk, the yellow suit, the floppy hats and the check/gingham print (which we've seen at several shows now). Off the catwalk? Alexa Chung's leopard print coat and Daisy Lowe's pale pink pencil skirt.
