“That’s so true” is what we can finally say about the rumours about musician Gracie Abrams and actor Paul Mescal. In fact, two years in, they’re going as strong and getting way more public with their displays of affection.
Before dating Abrams, Mescal was in a relationship with another beloved musician, Phoebe Bridgers. The pair split in 2023, and she went on to date comedian Bo Burnham. Now this is what we'd call a red carpet debut. After testing the waters with a joint appearance earlier in the week, the pair upped the PDA at the 2026 BAFTA Awards.
Dressed in Prada, the pair share loving looks and even a peck on the cheek from Abrams to Mescal.
Abrams and Mescal technically make their red carpet debut at a London screening of Paul McCartney - Man on The Run, though it seems more like a test run. Both Abrams and Mescal were dressed casually in mismatched baseball caps as they smiled for the cameras. You can see the photos here.
To celebrate the Irish actor’s 30th birthday, Abrams posts a massive dump of intimate photos on Instagram, writing: “My whole heart!!!!!!!!! I love February 2… Happy birthday❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I love you both more than words could ever describe. Thank you for making everything better," (a friend of hers also shares the birthday).

Mescal appears on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Abrams plays to a massive crowd at Glastonbury that includes Mescal’s Normal People costar and BFF Daisy Edgar-Jones and her boyfriend, Ben Seed. Later that same weekend, Abrams uploaded video of herself to Instagram Stories sitting on Mescal’s shoulders listening to Olivia Rodrigo cover The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love.”
Sources reveal that Abrams caught Mescal onstage in A Streetcar Named Desire, telling People, “Despite their busy schedules, the couple is making each other a priority.… There’s no denying the strong chemistry between Paul and Gracie, true lovebirds.”
It sorta almost kinda looks like they go red-carpet official? Abrams is on Mescal’s arm at the after-party for the premiere of Gladiator II in Los Angeles (see the pic here).
