France is famously way more chill than America when it comes to visible nipples, especially if it’s for fashion. So what better venue for Olivia Wilde’s sheer camisole look than Paris Fashion Week? On February 27, the actor and director wore a head-to-toe chocolate brown ensemble to the Saint Laurent fall-winter show in Paris, which included a bold, see-through top.
The top (which could be a bodysuit), with its spaghetti straps and wide-open back, would have been difficult to style with a bra even if Wilde had wanted to. She wore the sexy top with a more conservative belted pencil skirt and black tights, finishing with brown, patent-leather slingback heels. To accessorise, she added elbow-length brown leather gloves, a gold collar necklace, and oversized aviator sunglasses.
Especially with the skirt and shoes, Olivia Wilde’s “free the nipple” ’fit could be another example of the corporate-sleaze aesthetic we’ve seen all over PFW. Also on the 27th, Jennifer Lawrence attended the Christian Dior show wearing a cleavage-baring three-piece suit that added a little spice to a typical business-formal ensemble. Emily Ratajkowski, meanwhile, pushed the limits of boardroom-appropriate style in a navy Courrèges midi-dress with a plunging neckline that practically reached her belly button.
It’s giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “NSFW.”
