Mark your September watchlists with upcoming Netflix rom-com series Nobody Wants This, starring The OC star Adam Brody and Kristen Bell as the lead couple. The trailer has just dropped and we haven't stopped swooning since.
Adam's The OC co-star Erin Foster, who had a small part as rebellious Heather in season three, created the series, based on her own love story – particularly her experience falling in love with her Jewish husband. Of course, the series navigates an (unlikely) cross-faith relationship.
“This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,” Erin told Netflix's TUDUM. “But I realised that being happy is way harder than being miserable (there’s nothing to complain about). So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard. Nobody Wants This, but we do, and that’s all that matters.”

Netflix's plot synopsis reads as follows: “Noah, a stuck-in-his-ways rabbi used to playing it safe, sees his life start to change when he meets Joanne, a brutally honest and provocative woman. The comedy asks if the duo’s plans are now totally upended — or finally coming together?”
The series will charter Noah and Joanne's “unlikely relationship”.
Bell's character Joanne has been described as “a woman who runs her own podcast and is also writing a book chronicling her dating life”, who meets Noah, a “charming man who’s stuck in his ways and used to playing things safe”. Meeting Joanne is said to “upend his safe life plan”. We love an opposites-attract-type-rom-com.
