Let it be said: ‘90s hair has hogged the spotlight and now? The ‘80s want in. The latest haircut we’re crushing on is the “momager crop”. We didn't expect to love it as much as we do, but there's something about its ‘80s power suit energy and Kris Jenner-levels of zero BS that we can’t help but respect.
An update (or throwback) of the mussy pixie cut that's dominated shorter crops in recent years, the “momager crop” sees a return to a more refined, immaculate finish. It has all the hallmarks of a smooth operator: it's charming, polished and alluring. As for the length, it's giving us pure CEO vibes – daring, risqué and adventurous – so unless you love be bold and take risks, you need not apply.
That said, the pixie-like shape has a delicacy and diplomacy that gives it a chameleon-like ability to feel soft and strong at the same time – and we can already see it working equally well with casual jeans and T-shirts, romantic silky slip dresses, floral midis and sharp tailoring.
Pixie Lott is the latest celeb to jump on board, she posted a picture with the caption “PIXIE cut,” referencing her name. The rounded shape moves away from spiky layers to create a modern take on a retro '80s crop.
