In times of crisis, there is a quote that will always surface. It's from the late TV presenter, and American icon, Mr Rogers, and it's shortened to "Look for the helpers".
"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping'," he said. "To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realising that there are still so many helpers — so many caring people in this world."
When something as devastating as Monday night's attack on Manchester occurs, it can be easy to think that there is nothing good in the world. However, in between spreading fake news and helping to find missing people, social media has been filled with examples of helpers supporting the emergency services, and their community.
It can feel paralysing not to be able to do anything in these circumstances, but it is good for the soul to hear of small kindnesses. So here are some of the kindnesses that have taken place in Manchester in the last hours.

As trolls started tweeting about the killer and what his background might be, their comments were dwarfed by news of people from all faiths helping their city.

The NHS blood service tweeted that there is currently enough blood to treat the hospital patients, but that anyone with an appointment for later in the week should do their best to keep it.
