MAFS UK is finally wrapping up, and before we deal with the tricky task of figuring out how to fill our weekday nights, there is the very important business of seeing which couples decide to stay together at final vows. It all comes down to this! And among our favourites of this season are MAFS UK's Abi and John, AKA the golden couple.
The 11 November episode saw three of the remaining five couples walk down the aisle for a second time to make their final decision about whether to stay together after the experiment.
Along with Leigh and Leah and Leisha and Reiss, Abi and John were one of the couples to read out their final vows in the first half of the long-awaited finale. Davide and Keye and Rebecca Bailey are set to deliver their final vows in part two.
So, what happened? Are MAFS UK's Abi and John still together? Here's what we know.
Abi and John's MAFS UK journey so far
Unlike many of the couples on this season of MAFS, Abi and John have been a welcome breath of fresh air – a reminder that just maybe, true love does exist. The pair hit it off from the start, with Abi, a veterinary nurse from Bournemouth, immediately finding John “handsome” and John, a marketing consultant from Wales, falling for her at first sight, too.
And things kept on going well throughout the entire process. From their honeymoon to the home stays, they never really came across any problems they couldn't handle. They couldn't have been more united at the dinner parties or more sure at each commitment ceremony. Apparently, sometimes, things really are just that easy.
There have been several hints.
What happened at final vows?
Well, it was very cute. The pair couldn't have been more loved up and, naturally, they both had no hesitation in continuing their relationship.
"We stand connected through the journey of a lifetime with the ultimate reward - love… You are my present and my future, but most importantly, you are the love of my life," said Abi in her vows.
"For years and years, I thought I wasn't good enough to be loved," said John. "But since the moment we stood together on our wedding day, I knew… In such a short time, we've created something I'm so proud of. This is only the beginning…"
She concluded: "I feel amazing. This is the perfect way to end the first chapter of our journey," he continued, with Abi adding: “I came into this experiment wanting to find love. I found John, a husband and our happily-ever-after.”
And John was on the same page. “Was there ever any doubt that we would say YES at final vows?” he later wrote on Instagram. “I remember writing my vows and feeling soooo chuffed knowing who I was writing to this time around ❤️ The first time I’d written vows, I was just hoping I’d been matched correctly. This time, I was writing them to @abigail_l1ndsay my beautifulllllll wife. The experiment came to the most loving end for us, and we both hoped real life would cement what we’d started.”
Are Abi and John still together after MAFS UK?
Although the couples on MAFS are meant to keep their relationship status secret while the show is airing, Abi and John couldn't resist a few cute shoutouts. After their wedding aired last month, Abi wrote a long Instagram caption that certainly indicated that they were going strong.
“To my now husband John, I’m ready to give it my all, open my heart, and finally believe that I am enough and worthy of love,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, John shared plenty of his own positive posts on Instagram. And, like, he keeps calling his wife. Present tense. So, although we'll need to wait till the reunion episodes later this week to know the latest on these two, it's definitely looking good!
