Madonna has talked about the stresses of being a working single mum for the first time, saying that sometimes she feels like her "head is going to explode".

The singer, who split from Guy Ritchie in 2008, said: "I'm not going to lie -- it's hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do."

Madonna feels so strongly about the situation that she has written a song, I Don't Give A, on her upcoming album, MDNA.

"It's about the life of a single mother," she explained. "It's a challenge juggling everything - multi-tasking is my middle name. I try to express that."

Speaking about her own life, Madonna said: "Sometimes I cope with it very well; sometimes it's a struggle."

"I hope I'm a role model. I hope I give other girls a voice... Someone to look up to and admire," she added.

"I keep rolling with the punches and trying to have integrity… I hope I inspire women and give them strength to deal with life no matter what comes their way."
