Mad Men has ended and we're in deepest, darkest mourning. What will we do without Don to make us feel angry, sad and full of lust? The tormented lost advertising mastermind loved women (or hated them depending on how you look at it) and they adored him, but have you ever considered how many women he's actually had sex with over the course of the series?

Well, we've done some intensive investigations and have found that over the course of the nine years that Mad Men was set, Don had sex or was intimate with 17 women. Call us liberal, but that doesn't sound like a huge list, but then you remember that he was married for most of that time, so really he should kept to a smaller number of two.

We have listed the sad chart below:

  • Betty Draper (January Jones) - his first wife and mother of his two children, and one of the few women who really knew of his true identity.

  • Midge Daniels (Rosemarie Dewitt), the bohemian artist, who took a dark road to drugs and tried to guilt Don into giving her money for more drugs.

  • Rachel Menken (Maggie Siff), the high-powered department store owner, whom eventually dumped Don as she realised that he was in all ways bad news. YES RACHEL.

  • Anyone remember Suzanne Farrell (Abigail Spencer), Sally's school teacher? Yep, Don had an affair with her too.

  • Don's affair with Joy (Laura Ramsey) took place during the Betty years, when he was on a worki trip away. Her dad walked in on them post-coital. It was grim.

  • Shelly (Sunny Mabrey), the airhostess who Don met on a flight to Baltimore. Wife Betty was pregnant at the time with their third child. Nice.

  • His fling with secretary Allison (Alexa Alemanni) happened after he divorces Betty. He handed her a $100 bonus the day after along with an apology. Hideous.

  • Alice (Amy Motta) will be remembered for giving Don oral at the CLIO Awards.

  • Doris (Becky Wahlstrom) was a waitress who Don had sex with after the Clio Awards (after Alice). In the morning, he wakes up next to her but has no idea who she is.

  • Bethany Van Nuys (Anna Camp) was Don's rebound post Betty, she was groomed and well-heeled but not enough to keep him on his toes.

  • Candace (Erin Cummings), the prostitute who slaps Don during sex.

  • Dr. Faye Miller (Cara Buono). We loved Faye and thought she did a lot to make Don a better man. The two met after Don's divorce, but he leaves her and gets engaged to Megan.

  • Megan Draper (Jessica Pare) gave us so many glorious moments - mainly the time she serenaded Don on his birthday wearing a tiny LBD, in front of all his friends. They were married, but that didn't didn't stop Don's roaming eye.

  • Step forward Sylvia Rosen (Linda Cardellini), Don and Megan's neighbour and the wife of his friend. It all ends terribly after Don's young daughter, Sally, finds them post coital.

  • Sylvia aside, Don also cheats on Megan with Bobbie Barrett (Melinda McGraw), and the two get jiggy in a public hallway.

  • At some point, Don had a fling with Andrea Rhodes (Mädchen Amick), who he bumps into in front of Megan while the pair were still married.

  • Diana (Elizabeth Reaser) is introduced in the final episodes of he last season as a waitress than has a lot in common with Don - she too lies about her past, which is riddled with sadness, and she moved to New York to start a new life for herself.
