It's no secret that vintage finds are all the rage. Whether it's being used as the new status symbol on the red carpet as A-listers plunge designer archives for their next viral look, or as Gen Z's new favourite way to tap into '90s nostalgia, everyone's out on the lookout for the next great find.

Buying vintage can feel a little overwhelming. How vintage is vintage, for example (apparently, it's anything between the 1920s and the 1990s, which is a very wide range)? And what types of designer pieces should be on our radars as we trawl through the scores of handbags on preloved sites?

It can be tricky navigating the minefield that is shopping vintage handbags to know what brands stand the test of time and what styles are worth investing in.

So, if you don't know where to start looking for the best vintage buys on Vestiaire, Ebay, Vinted and more, you're in luck. Our editors have done the research and picked out the best pieces this week, so you don't have to.

Pre-Loved Chanel Logo-Engraved Metal Clip-On Earrings

  1. Chanel is one of the top three most coveted brands in the world when it comes to vintage handbags, but I always try to find ones that are anything but classic because I want my collection to be a little more unique. This sequinned flap bag has the double-C logo almost in a yin-yang pattern, which I absolutely adore and have not seen anywhere else.
  2. Rumour has it Jonathan Anderson will be taking over Dior after Maria Grazia Chiuri's exit, which means the French house is about to enter a new, potentially very influential era. With it likely comes increased search around the maison's archival products, so this is as good a time as any to invest in some vintage Dior.
  3. Jil Sander will always have a place in my heart, but sadly my wallet often says otherwise, so vintage is where I go for my Jil Sander finds. Their flats are some of my favourite styles, and with spring on the horizon, I'm very much eyeing these tan (or should I say Mocha Mousse?) flats.
  4. Anyone who has met me knows I'm a sucker for giant ‘80s style earrings. I probably have one (or ten, who’s counting?) too many pairs, but it never stops me from hunting for more. I adore these round gold Chanel earrings precisely because they don't have the typical logo on the top, making them a little more special.

Loewe Flamenco Medium Clutch Bag

  1. I'm trying to make better investments when it comes to knitwear, but that doesn't mean it has to be brand new from the site. Case in point – this still-tagged woollen turtle neck from Victoria Beckham.
  2. I've been obsessed with the Loewe Flamenco for a while now, but let's be real: they're not the most affordable. My compromise? Buying a pre-loved one in a fun colour for a lot less.
  3. Silk handkerchief scarves are such hardworking accessories—tie them in your hair, on your belt, around the handle of your bag—and this one is in keeping with SS25's favourite shade: pistachio green.
  4. Designer jewellery is rarely made using fine materials, so in order to justify the label (and therefore the price), I go vintage.
