Love Island is officially back on our screens for 2024, and we are in for another sun-drenched summer of love, betrayal and, perhaps most importantly, drama. The return of the infamous villa brings with it a lot of questions: What's your type on paper? Who will crack on with whom? Who will get the ick? Which heads will turn? Who will stay loyal?

A quick refresher: Love Island is a staple of British culture. The dating show takes place at a secluded villa in Mallorca where tanned and toned singles lounge around in bathing suits by day and sleep in double beds in a long dormitory (the scent of axe body spray practically wafts off the screen) by night and try to fall in love — or at least, win the cash prize by coupling up with another single and winning public favour. (To be fair, there are plenty of couples who are still actually together.)

Here's everything we know about the upcoming series so far.

When did Love Island start?

Last month, ITV confirmed that Love Island would be returning to our screens at 9pm on Monday 3 June 2024, with a group of single contestants competing in a variety of challenges in the hope of finding love and sharing the £50k prize money.

How often are episodes airing?

Love Island is following its tried and tested formula of airing nightly episodes at 9pm on ITV2, apart from Saturdays, when a round-up of extra moments (aka, “Unseen Bits”) from the week before is aired instead (these love birds need a break, after all).

This year will see a concurrent launch on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX in the same way Big Brother and Love Island: All Stars did earlier in the year.

How long is Love Island on for?

As usual, Love Island is a pretty big commitment — one that will keep you on a strict schedule of switching the channel to ITV every night for weeks. To be specific, Love Island will likely run for eight weeks, which would make for a tentative finale date of July 31.
