Lindsay Lohan has had a busy few years back in the spotlight after nearly a decade-long break from acting. Now, following a Netflix contract that included three romantic comedies and a reunion with Jamie Lee Curtis for a Freaky Friday sequel (out in August), it seems the star is taking a well-deserved holiday. (They didn’t call it a Lohanaissance for nothing!)
The actor, who is celebrating her 39th birthday today (HBD, LiLo!), recently shared images from her very own Roman holiday with her husband, Bader Shammas, and her toddler son Luai, who was born in 2023. In the carousel of images posted to Instagram, the Freakier Friday star looks radiant walking around the Italian city with her family. She even gave fans a rare glimpse at Luai, who’s pictured toddling around a lush garden and being toted around on his mother’s hip.

Don’t get me wrong; Luai is adorable, but what really struck me about this particular photo dump is Lohan’s vacation wardrobe — specifically her lace-on-lace layering. The Mean Girls actor wore a tea-length white lace slip dress, which she layered under Doen’s Sohana lace button-up dress, giving an airy, “I just threw this on” kind of vibe that’s exactly how I’m trying to dress on vacation. Will I be staying at what is probably a five-star resort in Rome? No. Can I aspire to dress like someone who does? Yes, duh.
Lindsay Lohan wore a pair of oversized sunglasses (you can take the girl out of the 2000s, but you can’t take the 2000s out of the girl) and a wide-brimmed sunhat, though I have to imagine that her choice in accessories had more to do with going incognito than making a fashion statement. That, and sun protection.
A pair of mesh ballet flats with a single buckle (they look a lot like Alaïa’s Mary Jane flats, which have been knocked off ad nauseum) added a modern element to the whole dolce vita vibe, and also matched her quilted black Chanel bag.
The mom-to-be is absolutely beaming.
Then there are her all-white looks, which epitomize that effortless “it’s too hot for anything else” Mediterranean style mantra. Both dresses are slightly sheer, but feature an opaque layer. The second look has a bit of lace trim at the hem, not unlike Kate Middleton’s and Jennifer Lawrence’s recent white skirts. (Wee-woo trend alert.) Of course every outfit is instantly upgraded when you dress your baby to match, as Lohan did.
With the Freakier Friday premiere approaching quickly on August 8, we assume we’re about to see a lot more of LiLo’s street style, as well as some red-carpet moments. Bellisima!
