Lily-Rose Depp is the latest star to give the trouserless trend a spin. The actor and model isn't wearing trousers in the traditional sense in her latest Instagram photo dump, but she added an extra layer of interest to the look with patterned tights that would look great flying through the air on a trapeze.
Loafers may be a fall favorite, but they're not going anywhere for spring.

Lily-Rose Depp shared a handful of pics from a trip to Tokyo, Japan, on IG, including a few shots of one of her outfits. The look in question starts with a sheer, long-sleeved black top that hit at mid-hip, worn with a pair of black tights covered in a bright red and blue argyle pattern from her toes to the top of her thigh, reminiscent of a circus performer or harlequin.
From the front, they looked like thigh-high socks worn over her tights, but when she turned around, you could see that, nope, they're definitely tights! They're also a fun nod to the novelty tights trend of the Tumblr era; if she posted this pic there, it would definitely have been reblogged thousands of times.
The head-to-toe look is just sheer and see-through enough, depending on the light. Depp wore the tights and top with simple accessories and glam, including low-heeled, round-toe black pumps, a gold cross necklace, and tousled waves. You can see her entire photo dump below:

"What could've been."

So many of our favourite celebs have been ditching trousers entirely in favour of teeny tiny shorts, high-waisted brief undies, or zero trousers entirely. At a Jacquemus show in Paris, noted no-trousers fan Kendall Jenner channeled a shower pouf in a short white dress and no trousers; Hailey Bieber did it with a sporty spin for a day out in Los Angeles, and Kristen Stewart eschewed trousers as a whole for the premiere of her movie Love Lies Bleeding in a high-cut bodysuit and tights. If there's any time to dip your toes into the trouserless trend, it's spring and summer.
