Lily-Rose Depp just put a festive spin on the naked dress trend. The actor attended the BAFTA screening of her upcoming vampire movie Nosferatu wearing a gorgeous, partially see-through Fendi dress that blended holiday party glimmer and sparkle with sheer texture.
The dress, from the Italian fashion house's spring/summer 2025 line, was a sleeveless style with a V-neck. The delicate, see-through tulle fabric was covered with tiny beading in a horizontal design on the bodice, and a tiger stripe-esque pattern on the skirt. You could see her skin beneath, but the designs atop the fabric added a peekaboo effect.
Another notable thing about the dress was its colour: a light taupe-y brown. The shade is soft, subtle, and really lovely against Depp's golden blonde hair, which she wore in loose curls. A similar shade was brushed across her eyes, lips and cheeks for a monochromatic makeup palette.
Depp styled her party dress with a pair of also “naked” mules, which looked like they could have been taken straight out of the 1950s. The shoes had a high heel and a totally translucent strap over the top of her foot, with a rhinestone buckle right in the centre.
The naked or sheer dress trend shows absolutely zero signs of slowing down. It's been a red-carpet favourite for celebrities all throughout the late 2010s, when it popped up time and time again at the Met Gala, to today.
Vanessa Hudgens went sheer for her Mexico wedding, Rosalía went for a cheeky style at the Latin Grammy Awards, and we all know Sabrina Carpenter loves a sheer moment — so much so that she put “I was in a sheer dress the day that we met” in her song Bed Chem.
Recently, Charli XCX put her own spin on the trend with another taupe take on the naked dress from Saint Laurent, but the added embroidery on Lily-Rose Depp's festive Fendi dress makes it the perfect take to add to our holiday party inspiration board!
