Since we finished rewatching Bridgerton Season 1 for the fifth time, there's been a steamy TV-shaped hole in our lives that we are just desperate to fill (no pun intended). And if you, like us, have an veracious appetite for watching passionate sex scenes and intense sexual tension then we have good news for you: Netflix have just dropped the new trailer for Lady Chatterley's Lover and WOW…. is it saucy (as our nan would say).
Starring Emma Corrin (who plays Diana during her early years in The Crown) as the main character (Lady Chatterley, obv), the film is an adaptation of the - equally steamy - D H. Lawrence novel by the same name, which was the subject of an obscenity trial in the UK in 1960. We're hooked already.
The book sold millions of copies but caused widespread shock due to its explicit sexual descriptions and use of strong swear words (sounds like our WhatsApp group chat tbh) and was actually banned in the US, Canada, Australia, India and Japan. It was allowed to be continue circulating in the UK, but only after it had been heavy censored.
Luckily, the world has moved forward a bit since then (though, admittedly, it does often feel like we're moving backwards at the moment) and not only can you get your hands on a full, unabridged copy today, come 2 December, you'll be able to watch the story unfold in full colour.

If you've read the book, you'll already know how events unfold. For those that haven't, here's a quick summary: Lady Constance Chatterley is a wealthy aristocrat. Her husband Sir Clifford Chatterley (Matthew Duckett) is paralysed from the waist down after being injured during the First World War. In the aftermath of Clifford's injury, Connie and Clifford no longer share a sexual relationship.
After Chatterley becomes lonely she begins an affair with the gamekeeper on the estate and events unfold from there.
Emma Corrin stars alongside Jack O'Connell, who plays Oliver Mellors - the handsome gamekeeper she has an affair with - as well as Joely Richardson (Mrs Bolton), Faye Marsay (Hilda), and Ella Hunt (Mrs Flint).

Gird your loins, because the film will be arriving on Netflix on Friday 2 December. Which we think is perfect timing, given that we'll be hibernating with a glass of wine and box of Celebrations ahead of Christmas party madness.
