Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet may have been together for 3+ years, but they've yet to make their Met Gala debut in New York.
That's right. Arriving at the city's Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday evening, the Kylie Cosmetics mogul wore a stunning Schiaparelli gown as she embraced this year’s theme of “Costume Art” – solo.
Fans had hoped that the couple would make their Met Gala debut in 2026, after Jenner and Chalamet were spotted in the city this weekend, along with Jenner’s sisters Kendall and Kim Kardashian – both of whom are also seasoned gala attendees.
According to reports, the reason for Timothée's absence was that the Met Gala clashed with the second-round playoffs of the New York Knicks, AKA, his favourite team, and, well, he confirmed so much on his Instagram Story last night, sharing a snap of his feet at the sidelines.
While Jenner has been to a total of nine Met Galas over the years, Chalamet has only graced the steps once before, in 2021 (he was co-chair along with Billie Eilish, Naomi Osaka and Amanda Gorman, though, so we'll let him off the hook).
Red carpet moments
Kylie and Timmy have, of course, walked a red carpet together in the past. They made their first ever red carpet outing in May last year, just days after Jenner rocked up to that year’s Met Gala alone. They attended the 70th David Di Donatello at Cinecittà Studios in Rome – Jenner in a gorgeous black Schiaparelli gown and Chalamet in a sleek tailored Tom Ford suit.
So, too, did they take to the red carpet together for Chalamet’s LA movie premiere of Marty Supreme in December last year – wearing matching Chrome Hearts outfits in a bright orange hue.
Although they didn't walk the red carpet together at the Golden Globes, Baftas or Oscars, they have been very loved up inside these awards shows – Chalamet even gave a shout-out to his “partner of three years” when he won at the Critics’ Choice Awards earlier this year.
Their relationship to date
Yes, it really has been that long since the rumours first starting swirling on DeuxMoi in 2023 and the two of them were seen cosying up at a Beyoncé concert in LA that same year.
Since, as well as showing up for each other and going on luxury holidays together, Jenner and Chalamet have attended everything from sporting events and fashion weeks to Coachella music festival.
