Kylie Jenner attracted criticism this weekend after sharing two pictures of herself, in which she was accused of "blacking up".
The professional close-up shots were described by some social media users as offensive and ignited a "blackface" row, as it was thought the reality star had darkened her skin and enlarged her lips. Her skin is also covered in a metallic sheen.

She deleted one of the two pictures, which featured the caption, "What I wish I looked like all the time", but kept one up and shared another, writing: "This is a black light and neon lights people let's all calm down."

Blackface started in the 1880s when white performers used to wear dark make-up to represent the black community. It died out in the mid-20th Century, after attitudes towards race and racism changed.
She has defended herself on Twitter, writing that she is "happy with the way God made me".
