Kendall Jenner is officially team leotard, just like Kristen Stewart

Is this the new cocktail dress?

High-end leotards: They're not just for pop stars anymore! The ubiquitous performance uniform is getting an on-the-town makeover, and Kendall Jenner is here to show us how to wear it.

In her latest pic drop, the model and certified horse girl poses casually in a black Maison Margiela one-piece, styled simply with sheer tights and slingbacks. The garment isn't super skintight, though it does cinch at the waist with what looks like a bow that ties in the back. The leotard allows for more freedom of movement than your typical tight cocktail dress, making it a solid option for a trip to the clerb or anywhere you plan to do some dancing.

Kendall Jenner's is the second LBL (little black leotard) we've seen this month; the first was worn by Kristen Stewart at the premiere of Love Lies Bleeding. The actor paired a dangerously high-cut leotard styled with tights:

(Stewart also recently stepped out in cable-knit underwear, a sure sign that trousers will not be returning to the runway any time soon.)

Pair these looks with the sparkly gold number Margot Robbie changed into for the Vanity Fair Oscar party and you've got the makings of a full-on trend.

I predict the next to embrace this trend will be Hailey Bieber, then Anne Hathaway; then Emily Ratajkowski will wear, like, four different versions in a row while walking her dog, and finally it'll go wide! If you're thinking of getting in on the style, perhaps first invest in one of these strapless bras that actually stay in place.

Then again, you can't go wrong with the classics. As Selena Gomez recently demonstrated, a plunging firetruck red gown with a thigh-high slit will put anyone in a party mood, no tights required.
