It's traditional that the bride's parents pay the lion's share towards the big day, but when you're marrying a member of the royal family? Not so much.
Or so we thought - a senior aide revealed to reporters that Kate Middleton's parents are contributing a six-figure sum towards their daughter's wedding to Prince William on 29 April.
"It is something they absolutely wanted to do, and William graciously accepted," the source said.
Kate's parents - Carole and Michael Middleton - have worked for years in the airline service, as well as running successful event supplies company Party Pieces.
However, the Middleton's contribution won't make too much of a dent in the cost of festivities - the wedding is reportedly set to cost more than £7 million.
A friend of the Middleton family said: "Kate's feet are still on the ground, largely because of Michael. He doesn't get too swept up in the grandeur of her new life, and Kate loves him for that."
