Kate Bosworth might just be our ultimate fashion pin-up, but apparently she's just as guilty of style envy as we are - hence her new app.

She's teamed up with Samantha Russ to create Style Thief, which WWD reports "lets people snap a photo, do an image search for a fashion item and buy it through a couple of clicks."

It even uses software adapted from the security industry, so it's got a pretty good filter for detail.

Talking about how the idea came about for the app combining snapping and shopping, she said: "Everyone has fashion envy. Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example - or a friend, or the runway, for that matter - wanting to steal something exactly as you're seeing it, or something similar."

So, the next time you eye someone wearing a top/skirt/dress/all of the above that you love, it can be yours without the embarrassment of tracking them down to ask where it's from - you can just take a sneaky pic instead.

And Kate herself has already been putting the app to good use - the red Valentino dress she plans on wearing to the launch party was found via the app from a pic she screen-grabbed online.

Style Thief is set to launch in the next two months in the UK.
