When it comes to ‘90s glam, Kaia Gerber has got the inside scoop. Most of us picked up our first makeup tips (and swiped our first products) from our mums, but there’s nothing like having a supermodel parent like Cindy Crawford to teach you the ropes. And since the ‘90s aesthetic is enjoying a major revival, it's go-time for Kaia to flex everything she's learnt.
Already the model has walked for powerhouse brands like Versace, Chanel and Valentino, as well as fronting campaigns for '90s fave fashion houses, Calvin Klein, Celine and Marc Jacobs.
But, for her recent iD magazine cover, Kaia Gerber appeared to pay tribute to her mum's signature beauty look with a big Cindy-style blow-out and a nineties grungey smoky eye.

Switching out traditional hair rollers in favour of cola cans, Kaia could well have been sneaking in a reference to her mum's legacy as a Pepsi commercial girl, too.

Clearly proud of her daughter, Cindy shared the cover to her Instagram Stories joking, “if you needed curlers you could have borrowed mine!”
The sweet mother-daughter moment isn't the first time the two have drawn comparisons. Just last October, Kaia attended the Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, dressed in a nearly naked black sheer Alaïa dress, with deep side-parted luxe-looking hair and a cool-toned purple eye makeup look. Followers couldn't get their heads around how similar the 21 year-old looked to her mum.

As for recreating Kaia's front cover glam, her makeup artist, Diane Kendal, revealed she created the high-end look using high end products. She let slip that the exact liner she used to wing out Kaia's sheer black smoky eye is a £7.99 number from Zara. As for hair, we might just skip the coke cans and stick with our regular rollers.
