The little kid in Jerry Maguire suffered with depression and anxiety

Jonathan Lipnicki has revealed that he suffered with depression and anxiety after being bullied for his role in Jerry Maguire.

He famously played Ray Boyd opposite Tom Cruise but said following the success of the film, he dealt with constant bullying that lead to mental health problems.

Speaking candidly in an interview with TooFab, he said: "I've been in treatment for a very long time because I had a very serious problem with anxiety and depression. I felt like I didn't know how my life was going to end up. It was the lowest point of my life".

"I didn't go a day without going home and being upset," Jonathan continued. "I didn’t go a day without being called some form of gay slur, or a hateful slur pretty much every day of middle school".

"There were even teachers that called me lazy, and I later found out I had a learning disability called dysgraphia".

Lipnicki said his anxiety was so bad after his peers taunted him that he'd end up a one-hit wonder that he developed eczema on his hands as a result of constantly rubbing them from nervousness.

Lipnicki posted these honest but hopeful message on his Instagram account and has received huge support from his followers:
