It's taken eight years but Jon Hamm has finally won an Emmy - and he took the opportunity to thank his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt.
The actor, who has been nominated for his role as Don Draper in Mad Men a staggering 16 times, told the audience in LA:
"I want to thank the people to whom I owe this incredible debt," he said. "Families -- who have chosen for some reason to take me in and be nice to me along this strange, strange road." He then rattled off a list of names and, in the final moments of his speech, he thanked: "Cora and Jen."
He dated the actress for 18 years before their split was announced a few weeks ago and Cora is his dog.
The actor made a surprise entrance onto the podium, climbing onto the stage rather than taking the more-conventional stairs.
"Thank you all very much," he told them. "I would not be standing here without you."
