JK Rowling sure knows how to send Harry Potter fans into a frenzy. The author took to Twitter yesterday and wrote: "Very busy at the moment working on a novel, tweaking a screenplay and being involved in @lumos campaigns. Back when I've finished something!"

To which a fan replied: "Everytime @jk_rowling tweets I stop what ever I'm doing and analyze it for an hour."

She then said: ".@peruseproject See, now I'm tempted to post a riddle or an anagram. Must resist temptation... must work..."

And write an anagram she did, posting: "Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won't tolerate this nonsense," followed by, "Something to ponder while I'm away X."

Fans then started to speculate, with some guessing it meant: "Harry returns! Won't say any details now. A week off. No comment."

Another fan guessed it was: "Newt Scamander's History of New York Fauna: One town, my tale." Rowling then wrote: "Warmer."

Rowling then revealed the real meaning of her anagram - and many fans were disappointed as it was NOT a hint at another HP book - it was an allusion to her spin-off novel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

She revealed the anagram actually meant "Newt only meant to stay in New York for a few hours" and tweeted: "#helpfulhint The solution is the first sentence of a synopsis of Newt's story. It isn't part of the script, but sets the scene."

Newt Scamander the magizoologist star of the spin-off book, which is set to become a film trilogy.

Miss Rowling then thanked her fans, with: "Thank you, thank you, for being the kind of people who get excited about an anagram."

Thanks JK - we hope it inspired you to maybe do another Harry Potter book!
