Some ‘90s trends are timeless: slip dresses, bomber jackets and baguette bags. And, not forgetting, ‘The Rachel’ haircut Jennifer Aniston turned into a pop culture phenomenon in Friends.

Jen is certainly keeping us glued to the edge of our seats with her ever-evolving haircuts and styles. Over the past seven months alone, we've been treated to a dizzying array of bobs – namely, a sleek collarbone-length lob she debuted at the Golden Globes 2024 , a ‘fluffy lob’ at the People's Choice Awards and a short, side-parted bob that made headlines after the Emmy FYC event for The Morning Show Season 4 in June.

Jen then did a U-turn by adding beachy waves to her 2024 hair repertoire. But now it seems she's going back to her roots.

In a Reel posted on 30 July, Jennifer Aniston can be seen sporting her trademark glossy blowout with choppy face-framing layers and flicked-out ends. The shape, created with a round brush, is undeniably a throwback to Rachel Green in the late '90s and early Noughties when she was growing out her short, sharp crop.

Key differences, however, are the bottom-heavy layers and blonder hue. In fact, this is the lightest Jen's hair has been in a while, having traded in her sandy blonde shade for summer 2024's biggest colour trend: butter-blonde highlights, artfully woven throughout the collarbone-skimming lengths.

The Reel has already garnered over 175,000 likes, not just because Jen is serving up some serious nostalgia, but for its veiled clap back to J.D. Vance's “childless cat lady” comments that resurfaced on 24 July.

At the time, Jennifer Aniston took to her Instagram Stories to repost the tweet by attorney Ron Filipkowski, featuring J.D.'s interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. In the caption, she wrote: “I truly can't believe this is coming from a potential VP of The United States,” she said. "All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”

In yesterday's Reel, Jennifer lovingly refers to the plant-based hair care line that she founded in 2021 as her “baby”, saying , “Guys @lolavie is now in #UltaBeautyatTarget ✨🤩 I’m so proud to see this baby growing up👏🏼❤️👏🏼."

Given the success of LolaVie, maybe we should christen Jen's new haircut, the ‘boss girl bob’?
