During his Dawson's Creek days, James Van Der Beek was a bit of a young rebel. Who knew? He was SO SERIOUS on that show.
Speaking to HuffPost Live to promote his new show Friends with Better Lives, Van Der Beek told a particularly hilarious story about this one time he hang out with N'Sync. And how he tried to sneak the underaged teen band into a nightclub in Las Vegas.
James said: "At the time, *NSYNC was second to Backstreet Boys. It was before they had blown up... They were such cool kids, and I immediately liked them...I remember that night, we were all going to some club, and they were all too young. And, so I went in and somehow passed my ID back so that Justin could get in with my ID."
So James Van Der Beek used his own ID to sneak a young and plucky Justin Timberlake into the club. But what about the rest of the band?
Sadly, they weren't so lucky: "Justin got in and then tried to pass (the ID) off to Lance to get in. By the third time (the bouncers) saw a James Van Der Beek ID, they were like, 'Ah, I don't think so James'".
Dammit! Just imagine if the whole posse had been in the club and all danced together - James Van Der Beek could have been an honourary member.
