Jake Gyllenhaal had to be taken to hospital on Wednesday this week after he sustained an injury on the set of Nightcrawler, it has been reported.
The actor cut his hand, punching a mirror, in a scene for the upcoming film and had to have "numerous stitches".
"Jake was indeed filming Nightcrawler when during the shooting of an intense scene his character purposefully banged his hand into the mirror," a representative for 32-year-old Gyllenhaal said.
"Unfortunately the mirror broke and Jake's hand was badly cut up. He got numerous stitches at the ER and was released. He has already returned to set for work."
The actor reportedly lost 20lbs for the role of Lou in Nightcrawler, showing off the drastic weight loss at the Hollywood Film Awards in October.
Let's hope Gyllenhaal makes a speedy recovery and manages to avoid the seven years bad luck curse.
