Jada Pinkett Smith – who has proudly rocked a shaved head for about a year, ever since her daughter Willow Smith convinced her to embrace her alopecia-related hair loss – celebrated Bald Is Beautiful Day on 13 September with a selfie more glamorous than anything else on our feeds right now.
“Happy Bald is Beautiful day to all my brothers and sisters with no hair❣️❣️❣️” the actor and Red Table Talk host wrote alongside a picture of herself relaxing in a well-appointed room, wearing a silk dress, long spidery lashes, a dark glossy lip, and diamond earrings. No hair, don’t care.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair, or lack thereof, set off a memorable controversy earlier this year after Oscars presenter Chris Rock compared it to Demi Moore’s famous shaved head in 1997’s G.I. Jane, which prompted Pinkett Smith’s husband Will Smith to strike the comic in the face…and then Will won an Oscar…and then he got banned from the Oscars. Pinkett Smith herself hasn’t talked about it except to call for “healing.”
In July 2021, when her mom shaved it all off, Willow did too, and shared a picture of their matching cuts, writing that “a gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return.”
